LinkedIn Job Search Expert Mill Montejo offers her top proven online methods to

                            “Get Seen & Get Hired©

Hundreds of out-of-work Americans are landing their dream jobs in a matter of days and weeks thanks to social media platforms, such as LinkedIn, and new digital era methods for getting found and seen by employers. Through the use of search engine optimization (SEO) techniques, keywords and social networking tricks, my students are literally being sought after by potential employers who are directed to their online resumes.  They are building important industry connections and increasing the likelihood of landing job interviews. They are moving ahead in line in front of the decision makers instead of their resume being lost in a sea of resumes because the software (ATS) "Applicant Tracking System" that the recruiter uses, kicked your resume out due to lack of keywords.

With so many employee candidates flooding the market looking for work, companies have long since started using either in-house or outsource recruiters to find and hire their top talent.  They also use ATS systems to that end.  Therefore it is imperative that your resume and Linked In profile be keyword heavy and optimized to get seen in a Google search.  If you send 30 resumes out per week for a year you might get one or two calls (I've done it). If you optimize your online presence you will hear the phone start ringing and emails start coming in to start the phone interview in weeks sometimes days (I've tested this).  This is the position you want to be in.  Not chasing human resources and responding to job ads.  You want to be getting calls and emails to interview you.

“In today's competitive market and Social digital era, the job search has changed completely,” says New Jersey-based recruitment expert and hiring coach Mill Montejo.

As an experienced executive recruiter who spent 5 years advising companies and their executives on how to find and hire the right people, Montejo switched her focus to advising job seekers when she found she had a knack and passion for recruiting in 2007-2008 while starting to recruit drivers for a national courier delivery company.

“I saw firsthand how tough it can be to get back in the game when you've been out of it for a few weeks, a few months, a year or more.”

It wasn't until I attended webinars and conferred with other staffing industry experts and worked a comprehensive and proven online strategy, using social networking sites like LinkedIn, that I noticed the phone started ringing, the emails and Linked In contacts started coming in more frequently, and the linked In profile views grew exponentially.

Job searches can be shortened from months to just weeks or even days by positioning yourself to be easily seen online through a few simple steps:

1) Develop your own career brand that takes advantage of the key words an employer or recruiter might be using when searching online to find an applicant for the job you want.

2) Post your resume (using those same key words) online on a custom website or blog, and then share the URL link on other sites across the Internet, through blogs, forums, as well as social media sites.

3) Use the social networking site LinkedIn to strengthen and build out your brand (again, using strategic key words) by building more than 500 connections with others in your desired industry, guaranteeing you access to an exponentially growing list of key influencers who will help you get seen online.

“In the same way you might use online search engines like Google to help find a restaurant that's in your neighborhood, and within your budget, employers are using the Internet to help find the right people with the right skills to meet their needs.”

It’s through the use of these SEO techniques and social networking, that my followers that implement my job hunting methodology are positioning themselves to be found online by potential employers, building important industry connections and increasing the likelihood of landing the most appropriate interviews.

“My goal is to ensure job seekers across the United States have the opportunity to choose the job that's the best fit for them and not to feel pressured to take the first offer that comes along. This way, not only are hard-working Americans getting back to work faster, they're more likely to exceed in their careers and be happier, more motivated people overall.”
